Suppose money is an expression of speech representing one’s values to obtain a particular good or service. In that case, the ability to express one’s views or opinions without reprisal must be equally important. After all, the expression of wants and value transfer is nothing more than speech personified in a free and openly traded market. To put it more precisely, will the world be a better place with a forever hardening, inelastic monetary policy or the right to express oneself through free, unencumbered speech?

More than ever before, this thing called “speech” is monitored by willful oversight of the laws imposed by the nation-state and the ruling class that determines how much individual autonomy is acceptable for one person to have. While many writings have included in great detail the coincidence of wants and how money is the expression of these wants, we need to consider how we jump the rubicon to enter the new paradigm built on Bitcoin. A borderless, censorship-resistant network that shares no views, no opinions, and offers only a public forum to all that wish to express free speech.

Every day, more and more people are beginning to realize that they are one step away from being on the wrong side of a narrative that directly conflicts with their beliefs and desires. For example, at the time of writing this, it is not too difficult to realize that the liberal movement has taken great pride in muzzling the libertarian right. Gender discussions are running at large, the 2nd amendment right to bear arms is eroded daily, the ESG initiative is moving full steam ahead, and the celebration of de-platforming has been weaponized to the extent that one wrong statement will not only cost you a seat in the social media circle, it may cost you your job, a banking solution, or worse. That was until last month, when the government decided that you do not have a “right to choose” in a historic overturning of Roe v Wade. A move that sent many in the liberal camps into the very real awakening that what you may have believed to be your right is no longer your right. You no longer have the right to express your speech in the form of goods or services that pertain to this ideology. It will now require an underground network, free of prying eyes, surveillance, and an uncensorable medium of exchange. You see, everyone is one step away from being on the wrong side of the narrative, and as governments change, so to will the winners and losers.

On the other hand, Bitcoin does not express these opinions, nor does it stake a claim to the entitlement of your expressed values any more than the internet itself. A dumb protocol with the sole purpose of moving bits of information without permission or constraint. As the world wakes up to the promise of Bitcoin, it will become obvious; however, the money changers have no intention of going quietly into the night. Governments thrive on pinning one ideology against another, and in the malaise of dysfunction, they dine by candlelight. This year many will be awakened, not by the inability to cool their homes, but by the frigid cold that is about to set in.

Hungry, tired, and broken, they will seek a solution and the cause for their dismay while the overlords sit by the fire in their beautiful chalets. They will censor all questioning and dissident behavior. They will preemptively seek out the rebels who dare push back, and it will all be done under the guise of protecting your freedoms.

So I ask, how will you cross to the other side?

It is well known that the mainstream platforms used to communicate are the listening devices of those who seek to control you.

Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, and iMessage are the censorship tools. Even the so-called privacy messaging apps such as Signal, Threema, Wicker Me, and Wire, all can be hacked and data extracted. They all have flaws, and they all can be accessed. With 87,000 new IRS agents and an over-capitalized FBI, CIA, NSA, ATF, DEA, DIA, DHS, DOJ, ICE, EPA etc…. I must ask where do you fall on the list? Do you think you are immune to this oversight, free from one wrong social exploitation?

The other side, if you haven’t guessed, is the global adoption of Bitcoin, but getting there will take a tremendous effort to control your content free from being de-platformed, free from the government’s ability to obtain your messages, the freedom to control your speech and express your values. It will take applications (tools) to navigate the road ahead.

Through the invention of Bitcoin and the cypherpunk movement, brilliant software engineers and coders are bringing this vision into focus with every passing day. The development of the Lightning Network (L2) combined with cryptographic-compliant framework is unleashing the possibilities.

HighVoltage is on a mission to provide tools that unlock Bitcoins’ potential as a global monetary system and a communication solution with absolute anonymity and privacy. BLIP, our messaging platform, is your passport to this new world. A world that seeks to protect your right to sovereign speech, created to send text messages over the lightning network using SATS for peer-to-peer connections for all. And we do mean all.

Michael Biehn w/ a twist: BLIP can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop… ever, until you are free!
